On March 19th, we officially kickoff Spring and enter the last season before Summer! Spring is a great time to begin conditioning our bodies as we prepare to return to a more active lifestyle. Spring represents new beginnings in many cultures, and this season, we encourage you to ease yourself into a Spring Routine. Below are five ways to build your Spring Routine and leave Winter behind:
- Get outdoors: Take advantage of warmer weather and longer days by spending more time outside. Go for walks, bike rides, or hikes as you get your body moving and your blood flowing. Being outdoors in nature has been shown to reduce cortisol levels and lower your rate of heart disease.
- Try a new workout: If you've been doing the same workout throughout the Winter, it is time to try something different. A new exercise class or workout routine will engage new muscles and keep your body guessing. Also, trying something new produces a hit of Dopamine! If you want to change your Pilates routine, our Frame Reformer offers over 230+ classes to keep your workout fresh!
- Eat fresh, whole foods: Spring is a great time to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating whole foods rich in nutrients and fiber will nourish your body from the inside out.
- Stay hydrated: As the weather warms up, it is essential to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Aim for at least 8 cups of water daily to keep your body functioning at its best. Try infusing your water with cucumber or lemon to mix up your routine and increase hydration.
- Get plenty of sleep: Sleep is essential for overall health and well-being. Make sure you're getting enough sleep each night to help your body repair and recharge. We will "Spring Forward" the second weekend of March and experience extended daylight. Plan for this adjustment by following a bedtime schedule that best supports your daily routine.
Maximize the next twelve weeks and experience the power of transformation! By creating a Spring Routine, you will feel ready to partake in all this Summer brings!
